The Zermatterhof was opened in 1869.
The hotel is surrounded by a picturesque private Park, majestic mountain slopes and just a few steps from the centre of Zermatt.
The history of the hotel begins at the end of the XIX century, when the rector of the local Church Joseph Ruden offered the oldest and most respected families of the city to build a hotel on their money. The idea of the priest was embodied in the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof, built in 1869. Today, the hotel maintains historical traditions and offers an excellent level of service, an elegant atmosphere and modern comfort.
The rooms feature a stylish, modern Alpine-style décor with natural wood and stone finishes. Windows and balconies of the rooms offer magnificent views of the mountains, the picturesque Park and the peak of the Matterhorn.
