Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge was built in 1970, a full refurbishment was in 2012, a soft refurbishment – in 2015.
Savute Elephant Lodge is located in the Chobe National Park that occupies a leading position in the world for the largest populations of African elephant. Lodge features stunning views and one can observe elephants in their natural habitat from the bird's eye view.
Belmond is also the only cluster of safari lodges (including Belmond Khwai River Lodge and Belmond Eagle Island Lodge) in Botswana that off¬ers air-conditioned rooms. All the Luxury Rooms are housed on raised wooden platforms, off¬ering great views, and shaded by a traditional African thatch roof. The large private decks are furnished with easy chairs and a hammock, ideal for watching wildlife. The room interiors are luxuriously equipped with such facilities as an en suite bathroom, an outside shower, a four-poster bed with mosquito netting.
There is also one private suite with a private plunge pool and an outdoor shower.
Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge offers a large indoor lobby, outdoor dining area, outdoor campfire Boma, 20 meters swimming pool, souvenir shop, small library, minibar, in-room safe, hair dryer, Laundry, free wi-fi and internal phone.
It is offered two safari trips per day in di¬fferent areas of the Savute area in which you may encounter lions, wild dogs, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, as well as rare species of animals such as Roan and Sable Antelope.
